If you missed the opportunity to get at ticket to the Google I/O event you can still follow the event from the comfort of your own pc. Google is streaming sessions from the conference, and making them available for download for those who aren’t able to watch the streams.

Google latitude offers check-ins

Google Latitude is useful if you want to share your location with a group of friends, but not everyone wants to do that. As Foursquare’s success showed, people want to manually “check in” and only share some of the places they visit. To make Google Latitude more useful and to better integrate it with other social services, Google added support for check-ins. “You can still use Latitude to automatically update and share your location, but check-ins let you add context to the location — like captions to a photo,” explains Google. It’s an opportunity to improve Google Maps by sharing your favorite places, which could also make social recommendations better.

Google says that there are 10 million active Latitude users. Check-ins could attract new users and make Google’s social services more popular.

Smart way to plan your LotuSphere

Looking for a smart way to plan your LotuSphere sessions then go to Geniisoft and download there excellent database you can find it over here – http://www.geniisoft.com/showcase.nsf/LS2011_SessionsDB

1. Download the zip file an extract it to your Lotus Notes data directory

2. Open the file and click the sync button at the top

3. Please accept any cross certificates it asks (this is safe).

4. It will replicate all of the sessions to the database.

5. This should also add this to your replication tab for further updates.

6. You can view by speaker, location, etc. It and You can now add sessions to your calendar.

Sync to your mobile device using Lotus Traveler or use this Lotus Notes to Google calendar sync application to sync sessions from your Lotus Notes calendar to your Google calendar http://lngooglecalsync.sourceforge.net/
